Hi, i’m Brandi ☺

I’m the owner of MoonFlower Thrifts!! This is my small business based on the Central Coast of California.

My goal is to offer thoughtfully curated secondhand goods that feel joyful, unique, and full of personality! Pieces that help you express your style, bring character into your home, all while giving beautiful old things a second life.

I’ve loved thrifting since I was a kid. My mom used to take me to yard sales all the time, and I even would shop for school on eBay. I’ve always been drawn to unique pieces that no one else had. It felt like treasure hunting and became such a fun way for me to express myself, creatively!

In college, I started reselling thrifted clothing more seriously so I could afford concert tickets and road trips. Then in 2020, during quarantine, I started MoonFlower Thrifts as an extra source of income when my wedding photography career was put on pause. What began with reselling clothes quickly turned into something much bigger when I discovered a new passion: refinishing furniture!

I had always been interested in interior design, but once I started refinishing furniture, I was hooked. It quickly became my biggest creative passion, and over time…selling refinished furniture grew into my full-time dream job!

Today, MoonFlower Thrifts is a mostly one-woman-run business. I do all of the sourcing, curating, cleaning, styling, photographing, listing, and majority of the furniture refinishing myself (with some help from my refinishing assistant). I also get lots of support from my husband, Ryan, who helps with the heavy lifting and deliveries.

Every single purchase means the world to me!! All I’ve ever wanted is a calm, cozy life by the ocean where I can be creative for a living, work from home, and build a successful, fulfilling business that allows me to one day be fully present for the family I dream of building…both human and fur babies included. Your support helps make that dream feel possible.

not your typical vintage shop ☺

Rather than operating out of a storefront…I run my business out of a storage unit! Most of my customers find and connect with me online, and pieces are sold through a more direct, one-on-one process rather than through a traditional retail space. This setup allows me to pour more time, energy, and heart into what I love most: finding, curating, and restoring beautiful vintage pieces. It also gives me the ability to reach customers far beyond my local area: across California, throughout the U.S., and sometimes even beyond. While I hope to have a storefront one day, for now, this is where the magic happens!
