This very rare pair of genuine vintage side / end tables were made in the early 1960s by Lane Furniture as part of their Virginia Maid Style 984 series. Stamped “Virginia Maid” underneath, Virginia Maid was a Lane Furniture trademark/brand rather than a separate manufacturer.
The Style 984 series closely resembles Lane’s iconic Acclaim collection, with a similar warm walnut finish, tapered legs, and classic Mid-Century Modern design. However, these are a separate Lane series, distinguished by their beautiful contrasting butterfly/bow-tie wood inlays at the corners of the tops rather than Acclaim’s signature dovetail detailing.
A beautiful and harder-to-find coordinating pair of authentic vintage Lane furniture! They have both been partially refinished, the tops are fully refinished. No flaws. While the rest of the body is the original finish but refreshed. Very minor signs of wear! They were very well taken care of. Even color throughout.
One has a drawer that is clean inside and open and closes perfectly. Gold painted metal drawer pull looks like brass, originally silver. Meant to be end / side tables but they could be used as nightstands, or even pushed together and used as a coffee table.
No cracks. No chips. No wobbles. No scratches. No notable major flaws whatsoever!! Easily worth $450+ a piece. Asking $600 for the pair! only selling together as a set.
