This is a genuine vintage mid century solid cedar storage chest / bench by Lane Furniture! Made in the 1960s. In 9/10 condition.
It has been fully stripped + sanded. I decided to leave it as-is, for a unique lighter wood mcm piece! However, I could custom stain it for an additional $200, if you preferred it to be a darker color.
It’s super sturdy, no wobbles. The inner cedar chest area is extremely clean! Almost looks brand new inside. No key included but you can probably have one made. Top opens and closes perfectly. No issues whatsoever with the functionality. Latches close.
it was very well loved throughout its life, and there are minor remnants of exterior flaws. All just give it vintage character! :) A couple of small chips on edges & remnants of deeper scratches even though I tried to sand them out as much as possible. The front right bottom corner was chewed by a pup but I sanded it out as much as I could to blend it in. It also was once painted so if you look super close you can see some remnants of white paint in the wood grain in some areas. Other than that, no cracks, no wobbles, no water damage, no major flaws!
Would be great as an entry bench, at the end of your bed, to store blankets/linens, toys, or whatever you want!
